Suggestion for LARGE rear ext cab floormat

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a mat like a Husky Liner that goes completely under the rear seat so that when I fold up the seat, the mat covers the whole floor. The accessory store didn't know of anything. My dog is anxious for a solution because until I find a mat, she doesn't get to ride in the new truck.

Good question. I was/am looking for something similiar. But I actually have the vinyl floors with cloth seats. So I'm not sure I need anything over the vinyl, it cleans up pretty nice.

One question... if you're looking for something like the Husky liner, why don't you buy the Husky Liner? The Husky Liner I have on my rear ext cab floor area goes completely under the rear seat (when folded up), and even extends into the area under the front seats. Not sure how you're going to get more coverage than that? Works great for my dog. Am I missing something?

I recently purchased a set of Catch-All Xtremes and it covers basically the entire rear floor. Doesn't go under the seats as much as the stock mats did, but covers a lot more of the whole floor. The fronts fit well too, so I'm pretty happy with them.

I actually got the Cabelas Trail Gear brand, but they are Xtremes and come with instructions/warranty that say CatchAll Xtreme.

This is what I thought, too. But the accessory shop I visited said no and the distributer they called also said it didn't cover the whole area. I had these mats in my '99 extended cab and thought I remembered full coverage, but maybe they changed or I just didn't remember correctly.

Guess it's possible they changed, although I would be surprised. Husky Liners has always kept a good reputation for making great mats with complete coverage. I've owned them in three different vehicles now, and all (inluding my '03 truck mats) have provided complete coverage. Perhaps someone can provide more information that has purchased a set in the last couple months.

Here is the email I received from Steve Bower at Husky Liners:

Greg,

First, thanks for using Husky Liners!

Second, you're are right, the retailer and their supplier are wrong. If you

see the folks at Astro again, you might let them know that on all full size

extended cab trucks we cover virtually all exposed carpet under the seat. If

they have e-mail and wish to contact me <email address removed>, I will

gladly send photos of our products that they can reference. Unfortunately,

we do not have a lot of photos on our web site.

I have attached a photo of our part #6135 below. When they order, they will

need to order part #6136 which "supercedes" a very slightly altered #6135

(part #6136 has a console trim to accommodate a larger console on 2005 model

trucks).

Thanks again,

Steve Bower

I don't see anywhere to add an image, but the picture of the rear mat he sent shows it covering the entire floor under the folded rear seat. I have one on order to be in tomorrow.
