P/N for dash trip clips

(The title sould have said "Trim" clips)

If anyone happens to need any of those little metal clips that attach to the trim that goes around the gauges/radio etc, the part number is 15042047.  They were .81 cents each at my dealer.  I picked up 5 extras the other day while I was there..  I think they are also used in other areas besides the dash trim.

I really didn't NEED one.  I've had the trim off a few different times when installing my cd changer and some of the R&D  accessories I bought and just decided I would pick up a few in case I needed one in the future.  I doubt I will because they are fairly sturdy metal clips, unless one completely breaks.

I was just making sure that it wasn't a little factory oversight.

What kind of changer did you add?

Did you keep the factory stereo and if not, what kind did you go with?

It is a Pioneer CDX-FM128 12 disc changer.  Yes, I did keep the factory radio since the changer is an FM modulated one.  I actually bought it in '95 and put it in my '91 Chevy, but after it was totaled, I put it in my new ride.  I mounted the changer in the extended cab part, behind the drivers seat and the display unit in the overhead console.  With the power seats, there was not enough room for me to put it under the drivers seat, like in my '91.  I still have the factory cd player also.  It's a nice set up for me, I can load the changer up and if I decide to listen to something that is not in the changer,  I can pop it in the factory one.  I'm not a die hard stereo-equipment-kind-a-guy.  As long as it works and sounds clear, I'm happy.  I've been real pleased with it.  I would like to be able to use the display from one of the newer Pioneer FM modulated changers though, they have the changer controls right on the display unit and a remote control, where mine just has a remote control.

That's a preety sharp setup.

I haven't done much yet.I put a Boston Acoustic 6.5 in each door and replaced the factory head unit with an Alpine CDA 7864.It made an unbelieveabe difference over the stock system.I plan on eventually putting some Bostons in the dash and getting the matching changer for the stereo but that's a little ways down the road.

Thanks,

When I installed it, I went to the dealer to try and order the plastic piece that goes in the spot where I put the display and they said I can't order just that part, I'd have to order the whole overhead console.  There is no P/N on the panel, so maybe they are right.  I'm gonna check some junk yards to see if I can find one.

I have been thinking about replacing the stock speakers with something a little better.  I don't want to put a LOT of money into it though.  Maybe a project for this summer.
