Adding changer to stock system

Im looking to add the 6 disc changer to my 97 GMC yukon. I recently added the denali console and would like to have the set up as it came in the Denali/Escalade where i can use the changer in the console and the cd unit in the dash. Has anyone ever done this?? If so what do i need?? Harness part #? I have a Bose headunit available, bose amp, console wiring, and cd changer.

There were changes in 03, so I doubt that that year or later version would work.

Look for one from an 02 or earlier Escalade or Denali. Better chance that it may.

 

Or, maybe contact J P Customs for a new unit if you can't find a good surplus one.

99 and 00 Denali and Escalade were factory equipped with this setup

the cd chagers were changed starting 03. if you get the changer that is -02 it should work without any harness mods. the easiest way to tell the difference between different year changers is that the mounting tabs are different on 03 and 02 changers. the only problem is that making the opening for the cd changer wider but since you have the denali console, shouldn't be any problem to hook one up. part number #15312903 should work to connect hu to the changer.
