I wonder why Chevy doesn’t make a standard cab LT model?

It would make sense and be simple.

 

 

Actually, some bean counter whoe drives a 1982 Chevette locked in the coat closet tells them that they don't sell enough of them that way and they could save 2 cents per "unit" if they didn't. Since he has a degree on the wall and coke bottle glasses with a pocket protector, they trust his judgement.

The same reason they don't make the SS in a Crew Cab. It makes sense. People might buy them.

Never has been. They stopped making the best police interceptor on the market, the best affordable muscle car in the world, and won't offer anything configured to what any purist would want. I think the SS should be offered in a std cab stepside with a blown 6.0L, don't know if I'd want 2WD or AWD. They need to make trucks available again with manual trannys. That was one thing I wanted when I went shopping, a fullsize 4WD with a V-8 5-Spd. Nothing, especially with an extended cab. Only way to get it would be to order a new 2500HD, which was just out of my reach.

 

But I think there's a light on the horizon at GM. Cadillac has returned full-force to RWD and now AWD. Pontiac has revived the GTO, although it looks too much like every other Pontiac. Chevrolet has ballsed up the SSR and Vette to where they needed to be. The diesel has risen from the ashes to become something people would actually want to drive, not just out of necessity.

 

Now if they'd quit selling cars set up to only the way the majority wants them. Too many automatics out there. Anyone who does get a manual can only get it in a bare bones vehicle because they're getting the manual to save money, not because they like having control over the driving, right?
