*** Its not as bad as the title sounds dont be scared ***

Well last week I decided to take a new job. It was the hardest decision of my life. I feel the opportunities here outweigh anything. The pay is less but I feel ill be happier. I have lived in the same place for 25 yrs (my whole life). I am moving appx 200 miles/2.5 hrs away to Indianapolis, IN. I am currently looking for a home. I found an awesome one at a good price. I start after the 1st of the year. In case I am not around much this is the reason.

As far as the lot I received my deposit back. They wanted to much to build the home I wanted ($230K). So that decision was made prior to the new job

As far as the house I am looking at it is listed at 159K. 3 car garage is awesome only downside I could live with is no basement

What will you be doing at your new job? When I graduated college I had to take a job 3.5hrs away in the Pittsburgh area, but it was the best decision I've made.

I was going to ask about the basement.

You guys would hate it here...With the exception of houses that were built prior to the 50s (guesstimate)...There are no houses with basements.

I think you can have one if you custom build, but the building codes for them are extremely cost prohibitive.

Something to do with groundwater, I believe.

And don't worry Ryan...You'll run out of space in that 3 bay just as easily as a 2 bay, it just takes a little longer. :dupe:

Congratulations man

yea your probably right

At least my truck will fit in the garage. 4.5 yrs and it has never stayed a night in a garage haha :lol

I'm currently looking into my options for a storage shed/workshop in the backyard. Zoning, and easements are a PITA around here. We wont even get into what the neighborhood associations rules are.

But my 3rd bay space is pretty much filled with lawnmowers and associated equipment, ATVs, tools that are on wheels (I put casters on everything possible), and storage shelves. Essentially I have two bays for parking left, although it's pretty difficult to get both my trucks in there as I have every inch of wall-space taken up with tool bins, and workbenches.

Invest in a lot of lights, they will save many a headache from straining.

I have 12 4' fluorescent lights, two incandescents, and two droplights up there...They were a PITA to put in, but I still feel like I need a bit more at times.

Holy crap. Ill have to upload a pic of all the outlets this guy had put in. There are a ton in the garage.

Haha, I'm almost confident enough to say, "You ain't seen nothing yet." I think I've got outlets about every 4-5 feet it seems. I want to say I've got 6 boxes down 1 wall and 7 down the other...garage is slightly less than 24x24.

best of luck with your decision! I'm fighting the urge not to take college classes, since I'm already in a Career. I'm gonna ned up taking like 1 math class online to make myself get started

Congrats! Change is good, Just not the most liked thing at the time but once you get into a groove things will smooth out.

Yea basements are great. I miss having one. Grew up in Pa with one. Here in eastern NC if you want one you have to build a two story house and back fill the first story. Then BINGO you have a basement!

3 car garage, nice. I can't wait till mine 2 car is finished. I got some work to be done on the 65 Impala and the car port just doesn't cut it.
