I didnt read this but did read on another board and it basically said it was a subjective test.  How can you test a wax.  I could look at a car and see something you didnt. Oh well i say if the product works for you and you like it go for it

Zaino makes my blue truck look awesome so ill keep using it once or twice a year.

These people are pretty bogus. They don't seem to do accurate enough tests to be anything but fluff.

I'm not going to listen to anyone who works out of his grage, and take it as fact.

I read the zaino report.  And just by reading that i came to the conclusion that they didnt leave it on the vehicle long enough.  Shoot i left mine on over night they left theirs on a little over an hr.  I wiped off zaino after 2 hrs on my truck and it wasnt completey dry

Second all they used was three things.  I thought you are supposed to dawn and clay bar before applying.  HMMMM Well if they had previous coats of wax on their vehicle that could pose a problem dont you think?

What kinda vehicle did they use? Brand new?  Old with prior coats of wax?  Did they use the same car for all their tests?  How many trials did they do with each product?

I can question all day.  Im not saying zaino is the best im sure there are better but in some of their grading i found it to be WAY off.

I'm wondering if they might have put it on too thick. It needs to be applied in very thin coats or it will get hazzy.

Zaino is by far better then any wax or polish I have ever used.

I agree with ryan, if it works for you and you have been getting good results then who cares what they say. The only true test is the one that you perform on your specific vehicle.

Okay Zaino Fans......I have HEARD about the Zaino stuff....I have even been to their website (Before our School District restricted the internet access to shopping sites).

I may go home and order some.  Tell me truly I implore!

What is a clay bar?

Is it like rubbing your truck down with a pencil eraser or something?

Is Zaino a pain in the butt to do properly?  (Like putting together Barbie's dollhouse?)

Does it take a chemical engineer to figure out when to wax, when to polish and when to polish lock?

Do you have to be anal retentive about the finish of your truck to be able to enjoy it?

Heck  NU-Vinyl, Di-DI Seven and NU-Finish claim to make an old junkyard VW look like a million bucks....But they don't.

I'm not afraid of spending a few bucks to have my trucks lookin good - -  Whats the low-down on Zaino?  Is it harder than Meguiars Gold?  (I think Meguiars is the cat's butt and pretty easy to use).

How will it look on my pewter GMC?  How will it look on my daughters dark metallic blue Sonoma?

No lying please!  If it is hard to get off like tar or something...please tell me!

If you need to have four pair of arms like Mike Tyson's to buff it out....please forewarn me.

Have any of you Zaino lovers out here ever tried a product called DriWash-n-Guard?

I use it on my 2001 Indigo Blue Silverado and get the same kind of results as you are talking about. The good thing is that I do not have to wait hours to finish and just a couple of coats gives great results.

I will post pictures as soon as it stops raining around here and I can get some good shots.

although i posted the site for anyone interested to read, i

too feel that their conclusions were invalid. as i am

getting ready to "Z" the wife's truck this weekend, i am

still going to purchase some more Z-5. it has kept my red

truck looking awesome, and it seems to withstand the

elements. their site does open your eyes to other products

that are available, but the longterm test is what they

should have done before mouthin off. they really seem to

dislike Zaino, so i wouldn't be suprised if it is the gang

from Edmunds that hates Zaino. to knock it the way they did

kinda says they are against it from the get go. who cares

if the owner of a company sounds "gruff"....LOL ...what do

they want, a guy in pink pants?.....hope none of you guys

were offended by my posting this.

Actually, everything you said is almost wrong.  :(

Zaino is easy to apply. The biggest part of it is waiting for it to dry, and waiting between applications.

Claybar is a mild abrasive that will get your paint babies butt smooth.

Is it more intensive to apply than regualar wax? Not really, in fact it wipes off easier. And it lasts months, instead of days.

The fist setup of Zaino is more involved then just wiping on a wax but it is well worth it.  You need to put Zaino on in very thin coats so that really makes it eaisier in my mind. Zaino wipes off easier then anything I have ever used and leaves no white power or residue behind at all.

The brake down of the steps can be shortened to this..

1. Wash with Dawn dishwashing soap to remore grease and old wax.

2. Use the clay bar if you choose to.  I would really recommend it as it will find a bunch of junk in your paint and safely remove it.

3.  wash with Zaino Z7 car wash

4. Dry car.

5. Use Zaino Z1 put on thin but cover the whole car/truck. Think THIN!

6. Don't remove Z1 and put your chioce of Z5 or Z2 right over the Z1.

7. Let dry.  This is where I hear people say it's hard. What's hard? go watch TV for a couple of hours come back and buff off.

8. Then you can use Z16 gloss spay if you want to.  Just spray on a section at a time and wipe right off.

Zaino goes on and comes off easier then anything I have used.  It lasts a long time even in Minnesota winters.  Agter the fist application all you really need to do is reapply Z2 once or twice a year.

The cool things about Zaino that I have noticed is it makes your paint really slick and nothing seem to stick to it.  I have gone on trips and got tons of bugs spattered on the front bumper and when I get home they just hose off with little or no rubbing.  The car/truck seem to not collect as much dirt. When you was them there is less dirt on the wash mitt them before Zaino. Zaino will bead water like nothing you have ever seen.

I know it sounds like a lot of hype and believe me I thought the same thing but give it a try you won't regret it.  It looks expensive but you apply it so thin a bottle will last a long time.

On YOUR recommendation (I have read a kajillion of your posts)  You sound like a reasonable chap soooo....

I hit the Zaino website and emailed them a note with my CC# asking them to send me:

Z-1, Z-2, Z-6 & Claybar.

AM I missing anything?

I'm not sure if they take credit cards or not. I've always maild them a check.

I think the only thing that you haven't listed(i'm not even sure if its important anyway) is the car wash.

Just make sure after you put it on, to NOT use dishwashing detergent, OR a car wash with regualr wax in it.

Zaino doesn't take credit cards. You have to mail them a check and within 7 days you will have your stuff.

Also, get the Z7 which is the car wash soap. It is really good stuff.

just thought i'd let you all know that the website has been

taken down. seems that somebody took the results so

seriously that they went to all the trouble to tracking

down the owners of the website, and actually delivered a

written threat to one of the owners homes.
