Hey, I don't want to start world war 3, just a question. Some people have said to remove the fuse in the cab to disable the DRL's. My concern is will this cause any harm down the circuiut like to the relay for the DRL's? Thanks for any info!!

Simply removing a fuse to disable the DRLs only works in older models. I don't remember the years exactly... '95-98??

In any case, removing a fuse for anything can cause no harm that I can think of. You're simply removing power from that circuit.

I don't want to start a shouting match either but all you have to do is remove a fuse in the underhood electrical center and your good to go,I have done this with my '99 and my '04.

No, I'm not sure of anything when it comes to making modifications.

I keep forgetting that the new body style C/K's use separate DRL's, unlike most of our other models that use the headlights. So yeah, on the C/K's that have separate DRL lights, just pulling a fuse should do just fine.

I was thinking of the older body styles that used the headlights for the DRLs. On those, you could just pull a fuse too. Most that use the headlights are not that easy.

Yeah I dont see why you would want to turn them off either. Unless you have the 2000 or 2001 models that always seem to have one burned out. Other than that, why would it bother you enough to turn them off? Im curious of the responses on this one...

I decided to pull the fuse on mine (2001), I personally dont like the DRL look on any vehicle. The fuse for mine is under the hood in the electrical system box. To each his own!

As a so called "PROFFESIONAL DRIVER" I really like the DRLs on all vehicles, THEY DO improve the visibility of the vehicle...especially those who dont turn their headlights on in foul weather :D:wtf:

But thats just my $.02

The original post was A TECHNICAL QUESTION. Wether or not someone likes them or not is for another forum. Because I dont like them dosent make my opinion BS!

Hey jhm, dont get your feathers so ruffled! Nobody cares if you want them on or off, we're just voicing our perspective on the deal! You asked on a public forum so your gonna hear it whether you like it or not! :D Anyway, I dont wish to argue with you over this, its your decision and if thats what you want, then by all means, do it. I was just curious of the reason why, but now I dont care.... :wtf:

This is why I'm never posting in a thread that has anything to do with DRL's again!!,I have never seen people get so upset about such a little thing as this :wtf: ,You either want them on or you want them off.(I choose off)

Roostman, Like I said initially, I dont want to start WW3 all I wanted was a reply from somebody who knew for a fact if any electrical damage could result from pulling the fuse, I would rather ask than find out later. I wasn't interested in someone telling me I was going to be run over by a Peterbilt, or my opinion is BS. As I said, "to each his own".
