super swamper Thornbirds

My brother had them on his CJ-5. They were really loud and bumpy as stated above. He traded them for a set of Buckshot Mudders. The Buckshots were quieter, smoother, AND had much better traction. The Thornbirds are garbage as far as I'm concerned.

The Thornbirds are the best "bogger" on the market today, but possibly the worst riding tire on the pavement. Great characteristics if you use them where they are intended. Good luck driving them on the street...

You think the Thornbirds are better in the mud than the SS Boggers? The Thornbirds are listed as an all-terrain tire by Interco.

Sorry! I was confused about which tire was originally questioned. Not sure of the road quality of the thornbird, have only ridden in vehicles with them offroad. I was thinking of the TSL bogger, of which you don't want to ride on the street. The super swampers are not good on the road either. But..I guess the only size I have experienced any of these tires in is 38+. Does size matter??? :wtf:

the thornbirds are only good for looks in my opinion, other than that they're useless as tits on a boar hog. ran a set of 36s on a truck i had. the SUCKED in the mud, they loaded up too easily i thought. they road like a log truck on the pavement too. they weren't as bad at higher speeds obviously, but at lower speeds it's a horrible ride. i ran a set of 36" super swampers, the regular ones, and they weren't the greatest ride in the world, but they were better than the thornbirds and they were better in the mud. if you want a great mud tire, the super swamper bogger is the king in my opinion. those things SLING mud.

but if you want a mean LOOKING tire......thornbirds are your tire. just don't go mudding alone unless you got a winch :wtf:
