Wow. Just changed plugs in my 99 5.7 Vortec. And its alot easier to get at the right side if you pull off the aircleaner and associated plumbing. This allowed me a look at the throttle body. I couldn't believe how grungy it was. Couldn't leave it that way so I took it off and gave it good bath.

These things are too easily overlooked sometimes.

while you're into it, go to napa and get a can of seafoam engine treatment. follow the directions, dumping it into the tb, stall the motor, let it sit, then fire it up and drive it like you stole it, should run even better than before!
