Direction flasher - help find

'88 Chevy Scottsdale 2500 4x4

 

The turn signals are not working. The bulbs are fine. The fuse is fine. I think it's the directional flasher, but I can't find where it is located on the truck. I found the hazard flasher. I torn half the dash apart looking for it to no avail.

 

Anyone got a clue?

If it's anything like my '92 was, it should be up under the dash to the left of the steering column if I remember correctly. Plugged into the harness.

 

If you know someone who has one that works in an 88-98 style, crawl under there while the T/S are flashing and listen for it. It's a lot easier to find that way.

arrgh!! it might be there but I didn't see it...it shouldn't be this hard to find.

On my '95 its just to the right of the steering colum, tucked up under the dash panel over the lower dash support. If I remember correctly on the '88 Siverado I once owned it was located in the same area but up higher, almost behind the stereo head unit...hope this helps

Could this be it? I kept looking for a simple two connector thermal unit. I haven't been able to reference the numbers printed on it as the flasher.

That looks like one to me!

I'm like you though, I don't recall them having 3 prongs, only 2. I also remember them being round.

Might be an electronic flasher, which would explain the 3 prongs.

that was it, a electronic flasher...was right out in the open, behind the parking brake, on the firewall. it was one of the first things I looked at.
