My truck is an 04 silverado ext 4x4 4.8 with 5000km (4 months old)

4 weeks ago i installed 285 70 17 bfg all terrains

1 week later i cranked my t-bars 1 inch (5 1/2 cranks) I still have 3 threads on the bolts left

I had her re-aligned by GM the next day

3 of the tires look great but the drivers front i can see is slightly wearing....the middle looks like its feathering....not side to side feathering but end to end) hard to explain

the tires had 55psi but i now have 45 (i dont haul nor do i tow)

any reason why the ONE tire is wearing while the other 3 are fine

the truck drives straight and perfect

thanks

Well, for one thing your tire psi is up too high. You are wearing out the center of the tire. You need to set the tire pressure by going by the truck sticker, not what the tire says. My 03 calls for 35 psi for everyday driving. I run 40 psi in them all the time (bump it to 45 when towing). I have not tire issues what-so-ever.

Now, I still have the stock Bridgestone duelers on it, but the first 10,000 miles, the front tires were feathering running 35 psi, so I upped it to 40 psi. Tire wear problem went away.
