Well, the wait is over.  For the last 36 hours I have been the proud owner of a 2002 Avalanche 2500.  She is home, and I am movin' in!  I have begun the long and painfull process of installing;

Trainler Brake Controller

Fog/Driving Lights (PIAA Dual Sports)

PIAA Super White Bulbs

Dual Band Amatuer Radio

Aux. Electrical Accessory Switching Console

iPAQ Pocket PC

GPS for iPAQ

Ventvisors

Molded Mud Flaps

Bugflector II

Husky Liners

Stars of Life (x2)

Cell Phone Handsfree

Seat Protector

Alarm System w/ Remote/Automatic Start

Assorted Bits and pieces of lifes flotsam and jetsam that we seem to need in our cars

A Nice Set of BFG All Terrain T/A ko's (265's??)

and when available...

Smittybilt Side Step Bars (Black)

Smittybilt Outland Sport Front Guard

Well, that should get me started anyway.  Sorry I didn't let you all know sooner, was out driving around with the following assorted facial expressions, in no particular order...

      :)  :P  :D        :P

I'll do some pic's once it looks something different than a showroom model.

HEHEHEHEHEHEH, maybe one more drive before bed.........

Cool...

Congrats, I know it must have been an agonizingly long wait.  I am looking forward to some pics, and some impressions of the 8.1L in the Av.  Did you get 3.73's or 4.10s or is there even a choice?  I'm curious as to what mpg's you'll get...

Keep us informed.

Thanks guys, nice to be able to share with other truckheads!! My wife isn't into cars/trucks, so my excitement is lost on her.

Shaners, Yes, it's the 8.1, and it is more fun than should be legal. Come to think of it, the way I have been bombing around, it probably isn't!!! I had a choice of 3.73's but went 4.10 for the extra tow cap.  I am not going to check gas miliage until after the breakin period, not sure my heart could handle the numbers!  :notice:

I will do some pic's next week after the mud flaps, vent visors, and Bugflector are on.

Until then,

Scott

Avalanche with an 8.1L should be a serious BEAST. I am interested to hear what happens when you floor it. After a proper break-in, of course.

I would guess it will sit in one place for quite awhile before slowly pulling out of the cloud of smoke!!!  LOL
