niiiiiiiiiice. wierd, but cool.

Veeery cool. Article claims it fits within 5% of the characteristics of a pneumatic tire. I'll bet they have abused and tested the heck out of this tire for nearly any and every possible scenario. And with this being Michelin instead of some off-the-wall company...... This will be interesting to watch.

But, it left out one very important in the analysis: modifications by the vehicle enthusiast! I see it now, NEON TUBE kits will be available for fitting within the spokes to please the ricer crowd. Pulsating lights that swirl around the "spoke" thingees.

Oh yeah.........! :smash:

I just read about that in Popular Science. They said they wouldn't be available for about another 10 years.....apparently they're pretty noisey under load. I wonder what happens if you run something over......like a squirrel......that could be a mess to clean up?

LOL

But I would think there would be some kind of weird looking flex in those plastic spokes, if you took off really hard with a lot of torque, and a good traction.

I wonder if the  spokes would be covered in a side wall.

Park in  a puddle and wake up with your tires frozen over :withstupid:

That's a good point....if your tire or tweel or whatever is frozen and you take off, and break a spoke,,,,do you have to get the entire thing replaced?

I'm sure they'd put some kind of sidewall on it for personal vehicle use. Cause they're just plain ugly. Gotta give em props though. Never have to check tire pressure again.

I was wondering when the tire companies were going to change the tire... I thought it would be more of a solid type of tire, but I guess this design makes sense. it's light and strong - there is nothing stronger than a triangle. I agree with hercman, they will probably cover them.

I wonder how flexible those spokes are when it's near zero temp. I’d like to see what happens if you hit a big pot hole running about 55 or 60 when it’s well below freezing. :withstupid:
