New Rims

What is the size of the stock rim that comes on the 2003 2500HD??? Looking to change rims and i have 285 75r 16 now but want to be able to go to maybe a wider tire next go around same height. What rim could i move up to but still use my new 285's that i have right now ??

I have 315 75 16's (12.34" wide)on a 8" rim And they look great. I believe yours are 7". the 285's are 11.3" wide so you should be able to fit 10" on a HD but slight trimming might be involved.

Your stock Aluminum HD rims are 16 x 6.5 with a 5" backspacing. You shouldn't have a problem going to an 8" rim but I don't think you can fit a larger tire than the 285 with the truck at stock height. Also, if you plan on getting a lift kit in the future, most lift kits only allow 4.5" of backspacing so keep that in mind if you are planning on buying new rims.
