Saw an EXT last night

I saw an EXT (that's what they're calling the Caddy Avalanche, right?).  I was coming home and he was making a right at an intersection.  I just thought it was an Av at first, but the color scheme looked different.  Then when he made the corner I saw the Escalade front end.  I really couldn't tell if the body caldding was body colored or not, but I think so.   I only saw it for a few seconds.

I live about a half hour south of Pontiac, MI and see prototypes every now and then.  I saw a CTS a few weeks ago as he was going to Home Depot.  Might have been the same guy.

Just figured I'd let you know that they're coming and they've been spotted.

Where do you live? They are not selling either of those vehicles yet...... ???

:stupid:

That's cool, I've seen some pics of them and collectablediecast.com is selling models of them.  They're pretty sweet, a bit pricey for me, but they look good in all black.

I saw two of the units one day about two months ago driving from Detroit to a meeting in Troy - one black, one white.  The one in Troy (white one if I remember right) was in the On-Star parking lot.  I've also seen an occasional unit on the Detroit freeways.

The cladding is body-colored and appears smooth.  I'll have to inspect one closely the next chance I get.

Saw it again this morning, same intersection.... (8 Mile and Haggerty for those who know the area).  It was black, and like Greg said, the cladding was body colored and smooth.  I like the look of it much better than the cladding on the Av.  (When I first saw the Avalanche around I really wanted one.  Maybe for my next truck)

I moved to metro Detroit a couple of years ago to work for the Big 3.  I love seeing stuff like this.  I came out to visit the area a few years ago, just before the Durango came out and saw one driving around.....  I was like "this is where I have to live."

Yeh, we have them at work ( TRW/Kelsey Hayes) doing work on the ABS & VSES. They look really nice with the body cladding painted, and the 6L motor rocks!. But they have AWD, so no low range for real off roading. And I still like the chevy front end better than the new Caddi.
