Compass/Temp mirror

Got me a compass/temp mirror off of ebay for 50 bucks but it did not come with a wiring harness and plug I went to pull out my existing mirror and it is only single 7 pin plug where the new mirror is a 16 pin double plug, anyone that has put these mirrors in a 99 truck what did you do does anyone know where to get a the 16 pin plug? I guess I might have to hit the junkyard to find one. thanks for any help you can give.

Does it have Onstar or something built into it?

My compass temp mirror only had the regular 7-plug connector.

No onstar it actually has the same plug as my wife's 05 Equinox I guess Gm changed the plug on them. Looks like I will have to go to the junkyard I guess.

I have a '99 and when the light is at the right angle I can see the temperature numbers and F° and C°. I think all that may be needed is the temperature probe to make it work. I was thinking of doing it too.

If it has the dual rows of pins, it is one of the newer style mirrors that can control a dimming outside mirror and probably has the passenger side airbag indicator on it. Does the mirror have a strip at the bottom of it that has a display? You can still make it work without the airbag stuff.

 

Indy, the mirrors on the '99's only have the compass even though the temp number/letters are there. There are no electronics on the mirror to make it read the temp even if you add the sensor.

It has the compass and temp buttons on the bottom the mirror is exactly like the one in my wife's equinox I know I can make it work I am just trying to figure out where to get a harness.
