DRL'S

I put in amber DRL bulbs today. I noticed some charring of the plastic housing and some charring on the plastic at the bottom of the bulb. Is this normal?

You noticed this when you removed the factory bulbs?  It almost sounds like they got too hot, or the lenses are defective.

Funny you should mention.    After just 6,000 miles one of mine burned out.  I took it into the dealer and he said that the bulb was burned at the bottom.  Apparently the the original bulb was a higher wattage than the recommended GM replacement bulb which has a lower wattage.    Mine was on the left side ,  and I seem to notice alot left ones out on alot of the Trucks with DRL's.

That was the one thing I noticed when the rados and sierra's first came out.  Almost 50% of them had one burnt out DRL
