We've had one driving around our area a couple of weeks now(NW Columbus, OH).  First time I saw it was at my Chevy dealer, then I parked next to it at Circuit City last week.  It's OK looking.  I personally don't like the painted cladding, nor do I like the new Caddy front-end treatment(on any of their cars).  The only thing I want from the EXT is the 6.0L engine in my 1500.  And that's not worth $12k+ to me.

I saw a whole bunch of Caddy Ext’s running around in Detroit the week before Halloween. Mostly white, silver and black ones all with Michigan manufacturer license plates.   Man, those things are gaudy but of course, so are the regular Escalades. The Ext’s reminds me of the Cadillac flower cars that funeral homes used somewhere from the 50’s up until the around the late 70’s.  You know, flower cars were pretty much like a Cadillac version of the El Camino but with a stainless steel cover over the bed.

Here in CO, Red Noland Cadillac had the edacity to place a Caddy Ext inside the Colorado Springs airport over the last month on the lower level near the baggage claim area.  As I hide from the freezing wind waiting for my wife to pick me up I had a blast watching peoples faces as they waked past it.   I am not marketing guru but, I don’t think the COS airport is a good place to market a ghetto cruiser in a state full of pickup  loving cowboys just by the looks the people in Stetson hats and Wranglers pants were giving this thing.  Even the hippy granola Subaru Outback type owners were giving it the evil eye.   However, the two night janitors that left their finger prints all over the door handles thought it was pretty cool.

Take a look at this link.  I tell yeah, those people at the Detroit News are a bunch of observant geniuses to figure this one on out.
