rear-end noises

Recommended Posts

HI, I just wanted to see if someone may know whats going on with my rear end of my truck.

I have a '99 Z-71, with the factory locker. The other night i noticed that i was hearing a whine coming from the rear end, but only at deceleration or at least thats only when I could hear it. Next day i backed out of my driveway, put it into drive and noticed back wheels squeeling, kinda like the rear was locked. Went down the street and it banged/popped and it was unlocked. Now everytime i put it into reverse, it locks it up, and i start forward for approximately 2-4 blocks then it will unlock and be normal, but with a bang. I do also notice a pardon the linguish, a "waa waa waa" when slowing down. Also it seems that the rear of my truck is more "bouncy" when accelerating.

Im figuring I'm going to have to take it in, but just wanted to see what someone else thought, or if there is anything that I could do for this.

Thanks. :fume:
