Hey, i just wrecked my 2001 sierra about a month ago...<-- :chevy:, in which i had replaced the head unit, all the speakers, and added subs and an amp (i managed to salvage all of this) . I have just bought a '03 sierra which i planned to put all my after market stuff into. The only problem is the '03 has the bose system. I went to various places and they are all saying $400+ for reinstallation because the bose system seems to be a problem, so i want to do it myself. My question is if any of you have any experience with this and if you do, if i could ask you some more specific questions.

Go ahead and RIP IT OUT. :chevy:

Wait a minute! Does the BOSE have Onstar or XM? They will create a problem, otherwise you're ok.

You'll need an adapter to keep your chimes and give you switched power for the head and amp control. The chimes go thru the BOSE system now and the power is controlled digitally by the data bus. Best Buy, Circuit City,,,, about $70 average then you're back in business.

After that you really can rip it out. You need to replace everything but it looks like you have that covered.

The $70 adapter is for the headlights on door ajar key in ignition low fuel chimes. It doesn't deal with onstar.

Onstar would be yet another adaptor, and I don't even know if they make them.
