Shift Firmness

My 1500 which has the 4L60E tranny. The shifting seems to have a sort of 2 stage shift. I have had this truck since 14,000 miles and it has ran like this since day 1. I just want to know if this "2 stage shift as I call it" is normal.

Mine did the same thing for the first 60K miles or so. It is some sort of pause in the shift done by the computer. I believe that GM makes it this was to make for a more luxury type ride. In my mind it is just good for causing unessary heat in the tranny. A good westers tune will take care of it. My Tahoe shift much better now but it is not hard shifting at all.

What is a "Westers" tune???

A Wester's tune is a custom calibrated replacement ecm.
