Hello,

I need a copy or the main information from TSB#990730007. It is for a 1998 Olds 88. My Mom's car seems to be suffering from the problem spoken about in this TSB. Any help or information regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!!!

On your first one,Its entitled:

"Vehicle shudder when reapplying the throttle (Greater than 50%) after stopping"

The cause is insufficent line pressure causing improper clutch apply.

The correction is to reprogram the PCM with the appropriate calibration.(Which would reprogram the line pressure)

This is something you cannot do at home,You must have a dealer do this.

I'll get back to you on the second one,Its a long one!

OK,On to your second one,I've condensed it a little,Its too long to type all of it out!

Its entitled:

"Slips,Harsh Upshift or Garage Shifts,Launch Shudders,Flares,Erratic Shifts and Intermittent Concerns,DTC P1811 or P0748 Set"

The cause is due to any of the following which may affect line pressure output:

Sediment inside the pressure control solenoid valve, causing the valve to mechanically bind.

Sediment in the valve body, causing the torque signal regulator valve to stick,or..

Incorrect transaxle oil level.

The correction is to do line pressure tests and if needed replace the Pressure Control Solenoid Valve (GM part#10478146 which lists for $51.93)

They also say that you should do the line pressure test at least three times due to the conditions possibly being intermittent.

I wish I could paste and post the bulletins themselves but I'm not able to do so,

I hope this helps you out a little bit though
