i'm gonna get 285's soon. i just wanted your input. did you do the torsion bar tweak for the extra inch of front lift to fit the 285's? and is there still any rubbing? thanks!

i adjusted the torsion bars after i put on over 10K miles on the 285's.   Before that I had no rubbing or clearance problems at all.

Only reason i cranked the torsion bars was i came out of a store with my gf and she said how come the front of your truck is so much lower than the front.  I said i gotta do something about that if she notices it.

I just recently put 285's on my 2000 also. After a week or so I decided to crank the bars some also, I got about 3/4 of an inch. My truck looks much better and finially sits level. now I just have to get the front end realligned, even though it's doen't seem to need it.

I'm not really sold on the re-allignment.  Been running my truck for about 7,000 miles now after getting about an 1" from cranking and no strange tire wear.  I figure I'm gonna get it re-alligned when I lift it in a half a year (*crosses fingers*) so why waste the money.

I think it will vary from truck to truck.  Some guys the alignment is great others it's way off.  Personally I think it came from the factory that way and that's why some are off.  Just my opinion though

i needed an alignment prior to cranking so it was a perfect time to do it.
