Anyone else sat all day in the driveway pissed off at the GM engineers for placing the steering shaft right across the center spark plug on the left side of an S-10 V6? Me to. Here's what worked FAST for me and I hope it can help somebody else. I went to Checker Auto and bought a 5/8 universal spark plug socket. The universal joint is built into the socket so it's shorter. This thing works great! Go over the top of the steering shaft with it onto that center plug. Then hook your extension to it and twist away. Comes right out. Hope this helps!

Oh, you are working through the wheel well, right!?

No, I would be mad if they put it on the right side.

:seeya:

Where else could they possibly put it??

Good one! I guess I'm not really saying they could have put the shaft anywhere else. It's just easy to blame the engineers. :seeya:

I wonder if it's easy to remove the shaft? Would it screw anything up?
