squeaky rear brakes

I brought it to the shop to have it fixed, they said I needed new brakes. They put some new brakes on but it still squeaks, they said it was normal for some brakes to sqeak like that, caused by resin. Did they screw me over or what?

Hard to say if they screwed you. Brakes do squeak on occasion. That's the nature of two pieces of material rubbing against each other.
