Best Scan tool?

Recommended Posts

I need to get a scan tool cause my truck threw a code this morning. Any ideas on the best one to buy? I know I can take it to autozone etc and get it read for free, but since I plan on having the truck for a long time figured I'd better get my own. I don't own a laptop, But I've seen some that interface with them.

Having a laptop will open a world of possibilitys for you. There are a ton of tools for a laptop.

I would look into a tunner, like HPtunners, or even better, eflive. Even though they will only tune 2 vehicles they have excellent scanners, especially eflive. The scanners are not locked and will work will any obd2 vehicle. If you don't ever think you will tune than you can get just the scanner part of eflive for a little less.

If you want just an inexpensive scan program look here

I am sure many others will offer there favorites.
