A/C not blowing as hard

My A/C is suddenly not blowing as hard as it used to. It's sitll cold. The settings are correct for max A/C. It sounds like the motor is working working just as hard as it used to, but it's just not blowing out the vents as hard. Thoughts?

Not sure if the 01's had them but you could check where the cabin filter is / should be for blockage.

The '01s did have the filter and I changed it about 10,000 miles ago. I went ahead and checked it just now to make sure there wasn't blockage and I found none. Is it possible there is something blocking the intake? That's what it seems like to me? Where is the intake? I couldn't seem to find it.

Possibly an iced up evaporator coil???

Not sure if this is possible with this type of vehicle a/c but it happens to residential / commercial a/c when there's not enough air flow over the indoor coil (ie plugged filters) for a long enough run cycle (ie an hour or so) with lots of moisture in the air. As the coil surface gets below freezing due to lack of air flow, condensate freezes to the coil and builds up blocking more of the airflow partially or rarely fully blocking the coil. The next time this happens, shut off the a/c for 10 mins and turn the fan on hi and see if it starts to clear up. If so, have your system checked to see if you're low on refrigerant as this can also cause a freezup in a comm / res unit. Once again, not sure if this applies to vehicle a/c of this type as it depends on the control methods used.

The intake for the hvac system is the black vents at the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side. Turn the a/c on full but not on recirculate, light an incense stick and hold it near the vent. The smoke should be drawn in very quickly. If not there is a blockage somewhere.

My truck has been parked for about a week. Today when I turned on the A/C it was blowing cool, not cold air. I'm having it checked next week. I hope all it needs is freon and not a major repair.

Well, now the A/C system seems to be working fine. I'm not sure what the problem is but it's healed. Hopefully it won't be a recurring problem.
