Rv tailgate issue

I have a custom flow tailgate that I can't get to fit properly. Are there adjustments to the truck? The latch pin seems to be about 1/2 inch too high.

 

The original tailgate fit perfectly. But I need this one for pulling the fifth wheel.

 

The tailgate does not appear to have adjustments either. Your advice is welcome.

It's rare to find a door (hatch/tailgate, etc.) that is adjustable on the body these days. Door hinges on many are welded in place, strikers, though able to be loosened, attach in a way that allows no more than the tiniest amount of movement.
