Mirrors

I have a 2003 silverado with the sport mirrors> I am wanting to change to either the extendable towing mirrors or the new 06 style mirrors. I was wanting to know if they will just bolt on and plug in or will I have to do something else?My mirros are just the eletric ajust no turn signal or heat. Thank you.

I have an 03 gmc 2500hd. I had the reg. sport mirrors also. The only function I know of was power adjust and maybe heat. I put a set of extending mirrors off an 05 and the adjust worked as well as the heat and blinker. The power extend did not. The dealer said about 30 bucks to program my switch so it would work. I prefered the 06 vertical mirrors so I got a set and put them on. Everything works-power adjust, heat, and blinker. these are manual extend.

I am also interested in the 2006 mirrors for my 2002 2500 .. I read in another site that the 2006 mirrors have the same bolt pattern and depending on your particular configuration you might have to run a turn signal wire etc etc but I wonder if anyone knows who the manufacturer of the 2006 mirrors is ?? Would probably be a whole lot cheaper to buy from them instead of the GM parts dept.

I have the CIPA mirrors. They are heated and electric. They plugged right into my factory plug in the door. I think the '06 mirrors look terrible. I don't understand why GM could not make the mirrors sit straight up and down instead of at that funky angle.
