Factory Undercoating

Hi there i went to the local dealership to ask if i needed to have my truck undercoated, 05 silverado. I live in the northwest. The dealer told me that all trucks come already undercoated is this true? i got underneath but i didnt see anything different than that of previous trucks,

Never seen one come undercoated. I believe GM doesn't recommend undercoating. If there's any gap or break in it, it does a wonderful job of keeping the corrosion causing moisture, salt, etc., in and making for a bigger problem.

 

Vehicles today are much better than they were in years past, when it comes to resistance to corrosion.

Thank you, i also have the problem of a liquid de icer they use here in washington state, it likes to eat and pit aluminum rims and i need to also find a product to protect the rims. Any idea's. The dealer saidmy warranty would not cover damages done by chemicals used by the state.
