cluster needles/steering prob.

i have a 2003 chevy suburban 5.3 gas one

 

 

first thing is the gauges my the needles stoped working the miles r being kept but no juice in the needles dont know what happend they were fine sunday got in truck noticed half way to work they didnt move anything i can do dealer said its gonna cost me 549 to fix it if clustrer is bad im good at fixing things so im gonna check it out to see what is going on maybe if i unlplug the gauges then plug back in it might work dont know the other problem is i hear a sound like a clicking sound when i turn sometimes then i feel like something is loose on the steering like a rattle sound got any ideas on what to do for both those things thanks ahead for the info.......

None of the gauges work? there's a reprogram for the cluster for this kind of problem, though I can't say for sure it's what wrong with yours.

 

The steering is almost certainly the infamous intermediate shaft. There's a new design shaft that will eliminate the noise.
