Biggest GM engine?

Are you talking CI? Or physical size? I do know that they put a 572 ci motor in a Caddie back in the late 60's. And one of the guys here on this site works at GM Electromotive (sp) and they make the motors for diesel train engines, so size wise that would be about the biggest. Maybe this has helped. :chevrolet:

Passenger, current production & automotive. And to be really specific, in the HD's aprox. 2003? are there a rare form of extra large engines put in them beside the 8.1.

Thanks, Kathy

The 8.1 is the biggest engine I know of currently in production.

I thought the Cadillac "16" was going to be a reality next year? 13.6L V-16 that produces 1000HP and 1000 FT-LBS of torque and uses DOD for 8 to 16 cylinder operation. Now that is a big powerplant!

SPO sells a 502 & 572 ci

I remembered and thought of those but then the post said what was the biggest engine available in an '03 HD,And the 8.1 is the biggest available from the factory in a truck.

The 572 is the biggest they currently make,You can get it in two different HP ratings,620 (W/650 torque) and 720 (W/685 torque)

Thanks for all your answers, someone had mentioned that they had an 03 HD with an engine bigger than an 8.1, was just curious if that was possiple off the lot.
