IP upgrade

I wanted to upgrade the IP on my 2004 Yukon SLE to include a trans. temp

gauge, I got a new 04 Denali IP and installed and everything works great

except I no longer have the Bus/Per trip option and can not turn on/off the

trip, everything else works thru the dic but this, what's the deal? Oh yeah the

hours/miles is now "0"..Help

I replaced my IP to one with a temp guage also. mine was a new unit for an escalade. this unit also does not have the personal/bus. trip settings, the dealership said that it does not have these features because they are not needed, the new cluster is for a 'family car' and not for a 'work truck' so they omitted that option. you cant get it back. I also lost my real time MPG. the reason that you lost your hours and mileage is because they are actually stored in the cluster. you need to take it back out and have the dealer program in your mileage and hours. they will need to see your old one so they know that your not running a scam.

As fmjhp said they took some features out of the clusters for '05 (Such as bus/per.trip and instant mpg.)

I ran into the same thing when I put an HD cluster in my '04.

And yes,You will have to send out your cluster to get the mileage and hours programmed in.

You can still loose options even if you get a new cluster for that year, but for a different model. I lost options when I switched from my broken sierra cluster to a brand new esclade cluster. so it's not just a matter of losing options becasue you changed a cluster out for a new one of a different year, like putting an '04 cluster in my '03 truck, but even if you get an 'upgrade' cluster of the same year (like what I did).

I dissambled the Denali cluster and removed the trans gauge and soldered into my

original board then reassembled the board into the Denali cluster housing and solved all my problems..Thanks
