I was curious as to what the average age of the board members are. Seems to me its more of the 20-30 age bracket.

Interesting statistic curve..., although as of this typing, the poll is too new.

About two years ago, this was done and the average age was mid-20s to mid-30s. I'm 57. Would love to know of others older, especially if any are in the high 60s. Those guys are the ones who witnessed the birth of the Corvette and T-Bird, 57 Chevy. Gosh, what a wonderful time to have been a teenager.

Yep, that's me. The only +60 guy on the poll so far. I'm 67. For me the big deal when I was a kid was the birth of the Kettering Engine in 1949, I was only 10, but was already a car nut. This was the first modern OHV V8. And by 1955, only 6 years later, every maker had one. My first car, however, was not an OHV V8, but a flathead 1950 Mercury Coupe.

I know the Mercury Coupe very well. There's a couple in town that have been lowered and tricked out. Definitely not the original intention, but they look good.

Kettering Engline.... Rocket Olds, right?

Definitely was an interesting time to be a teen...

My only problem with this poll is where do you fit it if you're 25 or 30 or 35, etc. shouldn't the categories be 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc.

Yep - The 303 CI Oldsmobile and the 331 CI Cadillac OHV V8 of the same year. Four Barrel Carburetors and Dual Exhausts came later, and the HP race was on. We had the Chevy Power Packs starting in late 1955, culminating with the Pontiac GTO in 1964. With the birth of the GTO, everybody made "supercars". Gas was cheap and going fast (in a straight line) was fun. Yes, it was a good time for the automobile. In those days I had two GTOs, a Mustang Boss and a Trans-Am.

Youngsters here are probably saying, "Danged old men talking about their good old days...."

My participation in the era that you guys birthed was a 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-4-2, Dodge Dart 340 4-barrel, a 1970 Dodge Challenger 383 magnum with 440 heads, and a 1971 Oldsmobile 4-4-2. Man, we wore those cars out! The motors held up, just the bodies would rust out, frames would crack, but ohhhh, they were straight-line fast.

But, I still have the 1970 Dodge Challenger.

Well, it all came to an end in 1973, didn't it? :D

Still do all my own work, havent been to a dealer for service in over 14 years.

The only thing I dont think that I would tackle is an automatic trans, except

for the tcc solinoid and trans flush.

I got my license in '74 adn my first car (also my first and last) Ford was a '65 Galaxie 500 LTD w/ 390 c.i. (the old family car) that my dad and his friend who he dirt track raced and worked at Holman-Moody hopped up. Within a year I bought my first Camaro, a '70 1/2, then a '73 Monte Carlo w/S.B. 400, then a '72 Z-28, then a '85 Z-28, and in 1986 I bought a cherry '68 Camaro 396 c.i. Super Sport/Rally Sport with 49k actual miles (sold it in 2002 w/ 71k miles). '94 Z-28 (sold it to buy a Harley Road King).
