I just bought a 2001 Sierra ext. cab, any issue's with this year model? It's in great condition, owned by a woman PO since new. It has 100k miles...

I sold my 99 Silverado last year and have regreted it...

You can expect the fuel guage issues, and if it's a 4X4 the slip yoke clunk... Get the Death cool out of it and put the normal green stuff in it before it's too late! Probably the Fuel Pressure Regulator as well as it's going out on my 2001 Sierra work truck.

I'll have to check the anti freeze out. My 99 had the yoke clunk and the tranny had to be rebuilt at 85k, The 2001's tranny feels strong and shifts smooth, and there is no yoke clunk.. was'nt there a slip yoke upgrade in 2000/2001?

I am planning on getting atleast 60k out of it in the next 4-5yrs.

My 99 Z71 cost around 1300. from a dealer, I am not sure exactly what was done as I gave the papers to the guy that bought the truck. It was shifting very hard from 1st to second gear.

If it would cost $4000 for a full rebuild of a tranny I'm just going to park my truck and start driving my car which is paid off until I pay off my truck and sell it!
