A question regarding TM. (or should it be called torque impedance?)

 

I realize that TM affects the timing curve, and as a result the engine performance is restrained. I wish to know if the TM also affects the transmission and if so...what does it do and how does that work?

 

If I buy a tune (ie Westers) will it cure the transmission TM as well as the engine TM?

I believe one of the things it does is lower line pressure during a hard accelleration to lengthen the shift and soften the impact to the drivetrain. It may also change the timing of various components during the shift. I believe the majority of restriction is done in the engine via retarding timing giving you that "My truck just fell on it's face" feeling during that 1-2 shift.

 

I was AMAZED at the difference after my tune (with minimal TM) was installed.
