Another problem?

I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I recently posted that the clock, climate control display and DIC on my 2005 Avalanche did not dim when the headlights are turned on. I thank you all for the responses. Tonight after pulling into my driveway and shutting off the truck I waited until the headlights turned off which they did after 10 seconds, but the dash lights (all of them) stayed on. I turned the switch to manual off but the dash lights stayed on. When I opened the drivers door the dash lights went out. Is this normal? Note: If I turn the headlights on manually before starting the truck and then turn them off the dash lights will turn off. This is very frustrating to say the least. Thanks for any and all info.

In my '03 Sierra I can sit in it after turning it off and taking the key out and it will be 10 minutes before the lights and the radio go off. My honda accord and my ford f350 does something similar, but it only keeps the radio on for 10 minutes after the key is taken out. If I open the door on either car or truck it shuts everything off.

So what ended up being the problem on the dimming issue you had earlier?

I'm off to the dealer this morning for a 10:00 am appointment to replace the LF Parking light assembly. Hopefully I will find out for sure what the dimming problem is. If it is in fact the BCM then it will be covered under warranty. Your correct with the 10 minute delay after shutting off the truck. I guess I never noticed that all the dash lights stay on with the radio. I'll let you know what they find out with the dimming. Thanks for the info.

Went to the dealer this AM. They replaced the light assembly; good job. They didn't think that there was anything unusual about the radio display not dimming when the headlights were turned on. The tech said to dim the display manually using the dimmer wheel. I spoke with a service writer at another dealership and he didn't have an answer for me. Maybe it's a plus. If I use the headlights during the day (if it's raining) I may not want the radio display to be dim. So for now I guess I'll just forget about it and enjoy my ride. Thanks for the replies.

Youre sisters Tahoe is doing the same thing with the dimming issue? Is it just the radio / climate / DIC displays that wont dim with the lights on? They told me at the dealer that the BCM had nothing to do with it. Keep me posted.
