Shorter Shortbed

Guys I havent really looked into detail of all the 05-06 truck options but yesterday when I was out I seen a shorter (crewcab short bed what is it 5ft 8"?) short bed on an extended cab truck. It caught my eye because it looked awkward. I dont remember seeing this as an option but you can get a shorter short bed (crewcab bed) on an ext cab truck? What is the price difference or any other difference other than bed length and overall less cubic feet of cargo.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I like the size of the bed on the crewcab but on the ext cab it looks like the truck has been squished (like in the ford commercial when the 2 bulldozers push the truck from the back and front). Soon they will have a bed option like on the H2 haha

Yeah, you can order the extended cab with the short-short-bed:

I agree it looks a little strange.  But, man I love that bed on the crew cab.  Even though it's basically useless for hauling.

It actually increases your price range to have the shortest bed.  Weird.  Probably just limits you to higher level option packages.

Ik would not say that the 5'8" is completely useless for hauling. It is much better than the narrow, 5 ft bed you get with a crew cab Colorado or most compact pickups. Now, that is a really useless bed.

yea its only 10" difference in length. It is definitly noticable on the size though

When I upgraded my '95 ECSB to a '05 CCSB, I really thought hard what I wanted to carry. Besides the odd tools, hockey gear, or 'junk', I really couldn't justify a 6.5' bed. Now, if you went for the HD series, you can opt for the 6.5' bed. I went for more rear passenger room myself. Plus, the 5.7' bed with the CC handles the same.
