Zerk Question

Today, I was lubing the chassis.  I have an '01 Z-71 and a could only find 6 zerks.  I removed the skid plate and got the ones that are hard to get.  I got the ones by the top of the tire.  I think I may have put too much in because it started oozing out below.  Is it possible to "blow" a seal or is that o.k.?  Anyway, I printed out the pictures of where the zerks should be but I couldn't find them on my truck.  Any Ideas?  Thanks Guys.

some leakage is alright.  And yes you can blow them out

Also there are 11 zerks.  Kinda like finding waldo.

Like Ryan said, there are 11 on the 4X4's.

We have a tech article that will be posted sometime soon, in the Guides section here at GM-TC.  Until then, I can e-mail you the pictures of their locations if you give me your e-mail address.   You can post it here, or send me a PM (Private Message) if you don't want to post it in public.  :)

As far as putting too much grease in, for the ball joints on the upper and lower parts by the wheel, you should only put enough in until the rubber boots start to get firm.  You can see them start to swell.  If greas is comming out of, or around the boot, you'll want to keep an eye on it and not let the grease get low.
