Outsource Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I have the Flowmaster 70 sieries installed on my Sierra. Dual pipes out the side, infront of the rear passenger tire. (Ford Lightning-ish) I'm not really satisfied with this set-up and was looking for recommendations. Thanks

Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ive had flowmasters and didnt like them, went with a magnaflow and i think its much better. The flowmasters sounded good outside the truck but inside there was too much resonance. Had them take off the flowmaster and put a magnaflow on. It sounds a little mellower at idle but my wife can hear me hit the gas for a long ways. Always wondered how she knew i was almost home, lol. Much less in cab echoing with the magneflow.
Outsource Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 Michigan, Did you intall that on the 1500? Can you tell me about your setup and what model you chose? Thanks.
michigan2500hd Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Michigan, Did you intall that on the 1500? Can you tell me about your setup and what model you chose? Thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Magnaflow muffler i got was part no# 11259. It was exactly what i needed for my 1500 crewcab. It is 3" center/ 3" off set, cant remember which way it sits as far as the the offset. The Magnaflow was a little shorter so when they put on the adapters to go from the stock 2-3/4" pipe to the Magnaflows 3" in- out i had them put in a short section of straight pipe, no big deal. The muffler i got is not stainless but you can get it that way. I used the stock tail pipe so i didnt lose low end torque. The muffler cost me 74.00 ,free shipping. And i think i payed 40.00 for the install. So for 114.00 i have an exhast system that sounds as good as a much more expensive system. And if i ever want to go back to stock its real cheap and easy.
