05 Silverado ext cab rear seat

Recommended Posts

hi,

i just took the rear seat out of '05 silverado 2500hd extended cab (so my dog has some extra room to jump around in the back .

but...

i now have the rear sound proofing material and studs sticking out, which the wife doesn't like.

does anyone know of a kit that i can buy that will snap in over the rear section, cover the floor studs, and preferably provide some limted storage?

thanks in advance

DRICK..........Go to a dealer and check out a new crew cab.

The back of the rear seat folds down in those and i THINK

there is a finish panel on the back of the cab wall.............

I don't see why you couldn't order one and install it on your

ex-cab.............................geo

I did the same thing in my 03 2500HD. My dog likes it!

I went to autozone and bought some grey interior carpet, cut it to fit the back wall and used spray 3M adhesive to glue it in place. That was over 2 yrs ago and it's still just fine.

For the floor I used a piece of 5/8 plywood cut to fit flat on top of the center floor hump. You can use the floor studs to keep the board from shifting by drilling holes in the board and let the studs go through the board, easy to mark, just lay the board in where you want it and give it a few light blows with a hammer to mark the underside to know where to drill your holes. To support the ends by the doors a couple of small blocks of 4x4 wood posts. Push your front seats all the back before you measure the length. All of the wood was then covered in the same grey interior carpet with the spray adhesive.

If I had it to do over I would have bought a better grade of carpet because it came out great. The floor is showing a little wear from the dog and cargo as the autozone carpet is cheap..

i talked to chevy today, they said that the crew cab molding is entirely different than the ext cab and that it won't work.

D.................Don't believe the parts guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go and eyeball the back wall of a crew yourself. I bet

the plastic cover on the wall is 2 pieces top and bottom.

GM only likes to make 1 part for ALL their vehicles.

Been meaning to stop at the local Chevy dealer and check

out a new 07 'Ho ! So I gotta eyeball a crew for myself

because you have got me curious !.................geo
