i was just brousing around,I'm not a diesel guy but what is LLY?

LLY is the code for the Duramax Diesel up to 2005.5 year model, ithnit was rated at 300hp and 520lb/ft torque, the new code is LBZ and it is rated at 330hp and 650lb/ft torque, an absolute beast from what i am told.

The LBZ is rated at 360 horsepower.

The LB7 motor was put in the 2001 chevy HDs and that lasted till about march of 2004 and was rated 300HP and 520 ft/torgue then they came out with the LLY in march thus was nickednamed 2004.5 and was rated at 310HP and 590 ft/torque then in 2006 dont know what month the LBZ was born and was rated at 360HP and 650 ft/torque.

With Allison 5 speed auto

2001-2003(first quarter 2004) LB7 rated @300HP and 520ft/lb

2004(last quarter 2003) LLY rated @310HP and 590ft/lb

2005 LLY rated @310HP and 605ft/lb

 

With Allison 6 speed auto

2006 (Aug-Oct 2005) LLY rated @310HP and 605ft/lb

2006 (started showing up last quarter of 05) LBZ 360HP and 650ft/lb

 

With ZF 6 speed manual

2001-2006 LB7 300HP and 520ft/lb

 

They make some other variations of the LLY also. I am not sure on the #'s. The Express and Savannas are available this year with it. I think the #'s are around 250HP and 460ft/lbs.
