Front receiver hitch on a 2004 Sierra ??

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2004 GMC Sierra Z/71 OffRoad truck and would like to transfer my front mounted winch off my Ford onto the GMC. It's mounted on a front hitch on the Ford. Etrailer.com offers sever front hitches that can be mounted on my truck but there isn't any indication in the installation directions if I will have to cut up the lower front air dam (valance) or if it will pass through the opening thats in the air dam. Hate to order one and find out it won't work and have to ship it back to them. Anyone have a front receiver mounted on a 2004 GMC and if so, what brand hitch is it ?

Thanks in advance !

I use a Curt maufacturing front receiver on my 2002 Z71 for a snowsport plow. No need to cut anything to install. Easy to install as you use one of the bolts from the tow hooks and they supply all the hardware to mount it in the rear.

I know that there are plenty of other hitches made for the front of the GM trucks at similar prices that also do not require mods to the lower valance.

This is not true on the Z71 SUV's (tahoe and burbans). You are requires to cut a hole in the valance for these installs. No big deal the valances are cheap if you wanted to ever remove it when you sell it.

Piece of Cake and it runs around $100-$110.
