Can somebody please clarify the DMax RPO codes and power ratings for '01 to present?

 

'01 to '03 - LB7 - 300hp/505ft/lb???

 

'04 to '05 - LLY - 300hp/545ft/lb???

 

'06 - LBZ - 360/650???

 

Reason why is I have an '04, but I think it's an LB7? How can I tell the difference?

Most likely the RPO code for your engine is on the build sheet inside the door of your glove box. The LLY came out for 2004.5.

Take a look at your VIN number. The generation of Duramax in indicated by the eighth character. If your eighth character is a 1, your engine is an LB7, a 2 indicates an LLY. My new LBZ has an eighth character of "D."

Power ratings were as follows:

LB7 was 300hp 520 lb ft

LLY was 310hp 590 lb ft
