Akebono Pro Act Ultra Premium Ceramic brake pads. AKEBONO HOME PAGE

They claim "Akebono's OEM customers include: General Motors, Ford Motor Company, DaimlerChrysler, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Isuzu"

Are these pads any good ? I read there claim and like all brake manufactures claim they are the best manufacturs of brakes since hydraulic brake systems were invented. Real world actual use and feed back from other users is how I judge them.

Long story in short form, Not what I wanted but with the wear indicators starting to chirp I did not want to cut any rotors. Local parts houses needed 3 -5 days to get what I wanted. Local parts house I trust (somewhat) had these and said they were extremly high quality and a true ceramic (unlike Raybestos Prostop ceramic semi metallic ?)

Anyhow, They give me pretty good discounts and for $ 69.00 for the rears (less another $ 10.00 with a discount card from prior purchases) were less than the $ 89.99 for the Raybestos Quiet stop ceramics I wanted.

*one heads up for people looking to replace the rear pads on the 1500 series trucks, there seems to be a little confusion as to the proper pads. they list 2 different sizes. The actual pads for my yukon seems everyone list as the GT5 / 4.10 ratio, but actually I have the GT4 / 3.73. and are the larger of the 2 pads.

A local radio/newspaper/television/garage owner here in the D.C. area has said on the air that he uses these in his shop because of their wide range of ceramic availability. He seems to think they are good brake pads.
