I know we've been over and over this

OK so I know I need to replace the 245 "Steeltex"

What are the opinions of users of the 285/75 versus the 255/85.

As a side note.  While I don't do any "extreme" fourwheeling.  This truck will likely get back into the woods (no path) 3-5 times a year for hunting.  Therefore might get into some significant articulation and don't want the tires to rub bad or bind.

Thanks for the opinions.

You might consider the +1 factory option, 265\75R16. It's got a nice footprint and should measure ~31.4-31.6", depending upon mfgr. I'm running Kelly SUV's OWL, nice tire. There's a

bunch of options, but I stick with what works.

I'd agree with the Skip, the 265's are a good size.  I've had the f-stones on my 99 from the factory and they're at 34,000 with good wear still I believe.  They're not the greatest in wet weather, but the size gives the truck a nice stance and good base...performance just depends on who you choose to go with, and the opinions on that can go up and down the scale.
