2004 Trailblazer SS2. What is it?

I just picked up a 2004 Trailblazer EXT LT. It has decals on the side & back SS2. I can't find any info about this as a GM package, but I've seen pictures of 3 others online with the same decals.

Anybody know if this was a package, and any details about it.

Here's a pic:

Thanks,

I don't know...What engine does it have in it? Any options that aren't on other EXT's? You're going to have to share a little more info about it.

And is that a full hood, or were those scoops just added on to the stocker?

Might want to try TrailblazerSS.com too.

I was curious myself. I did some research. It does not exsist as a true GM package. I read on other forums with owners posting that they owned these. It is apparently something some dealers were adding to V8 loaded TBs.

They are just decals dealers are adding on,"SS2" is not a GM option.

We had some Silverado's and Sierra's here that we added the "SS2" decals on along with 20 inch wheels/tires.

Mine has the 5.3. The previous owner said that he bought it as it was w/ the hood scoops & all from the dealership.

I need a ram air hood.

Mine isn't a ram air hood. Those are just those phony Lund hood scoops. I pulled them off yesterday.

That looks like someones "custom" package. The 5.3L engine is just a regular 295hp engine. Take a picture of the RPO code sticker and post it.

Do the seats have the "SS" embroidered on them ?

Might help to determin if it's just added stickers or actual "SS"

As far as taking the scoops off, might want to try some "GOO-Gone", being sure to let the stuff soak into the adhesive before trying to remove them.

If ya don't want to try that, just heat them up a bit with a hair drier.

No, it's just decals. I finally found the dealership that sold it originally. They just threw some decals & the scoops on it & charged a ton more $$$ for it. I want to pull the decals, but the verdict is still out from the wife...and she's the boss.

The scoops are off. It was hot the other day and they came off pretty easily. Getting all of the adhesive off took some time, but it helps when you have a friend that owns a body shop. I used Urethane Reducer to loosen the adhesive. I then pulled out the buffer & buffed the hood with a couple different compounds.

I think it looks wayyyy better now.

Yea, I HATE all those dealer added options or whatever. As if they don't make enough money on them as it is.
