Not positive but I think the transmission should bolt up, motor mounts would probably need modified. I think the 4 cylinder and 2.8 V6 shared the car's version of the 4L60 (diferent bell housing bolt pattern) Since the 3.8 is typically used for the 4T60 might be the problem. I'd look for a 4.3 Vortech V6 with transmission (used)

Yea...thats really your best bet. In fact on this board there just happens to be a 4.3L/4L60-E combo for sale rather cheap. It is the newer 4.3L (1995-1998) engine so you'll need to track down a computer. Might even be worth while finding a turbocharger. Could be a neat truck with a set of Typhoon wheels or something. Heck..just go get a Typhoon lol

You may want to consider looking at l67swap.com For the most part the guys over there are pretty decent. and some of them have lots of experience swapping l67's into everything from cavaliers to motorcycles.

lots of them have done it to Fieros (same trans I vbelieve as your truck, or similar)

however, if you're looking for even more power - look for an l36 (05+ GTP) 3800 with a series V blower. the newer engine takes into account several of the modifications that the l67 crowd has been doing over the years.

seems like a lot of work because i67swap.com doesnt have the instructions for my truck
