Here in Michigan we had a bad year for mosquitoes 2 or 3 years ago, but it was nothing like we are having this year. This year, you can just walk along watching your boots and kick up 2 or 3 mosquitoes out of the grass with each step. It's insane!

Folks I live in the woods. Tons of trees, undergrowth and standing, stagnet water.

I have mosquitoes big enough for my Black Lab to BITE!!!

The population is HUGE thie year so far because of the very wet spring we have had.

I love the woods, hate the mosquitoes!

This is kinda like farting is a tornado, but I do set up my bug zapper to fry a few. I probly kill less than one half of one percent of the population, but it makes me feel better anyway. I have to clean the full screen daily!

I've got a neighbor that spent close to a grand on some "Mosquito Deleto" system...It supposedly clears 5 surrounding acres of them.

He has to hook it up to a propane tank, and leave it on 24 x 7 x all spring/summer/fall.

It doesn't do the job very well....I'm thinking of installing a bat-house in the back yard. Now THOSE things can eat some skeeters. :tear:

I vote for bats as well, I have a bat house on the side of our chimney. Also read up that a certain breed duck will eat a ton of mosquito's as well. Found that out in the process of us getting chickens this year. Oh the things a father does for his daughter's.

I saw one this past weekend that had tail numbers and landing lights on it. It actually beat out the one with the Marine Corp Tattoo from last year!

It was probably one from the movie "Mosquito". You know, a 3 ft long monstrosity that kills people and completely drains them of blood.

I live in one of the most humid places in the United States, and our mosquito quantity isn't that bad this year. Its about normal. The only thing I think is different, is they seem to be present a little earlier than normal.

I'm so glad I moved from Texas to San Jose, CA.....particularly summertime. No fire ants or mosquitoes - sometimes flies, but not those 2 pound horseflies. I like the cool dry weather here - somehow my towels in Bryan, TX never seemed to ever completely dry.

You need to get this toy for a more satisfying way to deal with mosquitoes and flies - battery powered bug zapper/swatter.
