power steering trouble

i have a 2000 z71 and i have a strange problem. i cannot turn my truck to the right very easily. it turns fine to the left but feels like the power steering is not working when i turn right. i tried to fix the problem by changing to a new power steering pump. after i did that i had the same problem. new pump...still no power steering help when i turn right.

 

any suggestions?

It is in the box. It is not the pump because if it was it would effect the turning in both directions. The is a spool valve that is in there thcontrols the boost that is likely bad or you may have a bas seal on the boost piston, eitherway it is time to replace the steering box.

There is no "rack" in that truck. It is recirculating ball.
